Golden Globes Hits (and a few Misses)

Mila Kunis in Vera Wang
This color ruled the red carpet and I loved it!

Amy Adams in Marchesa.
Not a huge fan of her but I think she looks stunning in this dress and I'm always a sucker for navy.

Natalie Portman in Victor & Rolf
I have to say, I was expecting a little more wow with Ms. Portman and certainly not this quirky Victor & Rolf number, but I like that she didn't go with one of the predicted designers (Lanvin, Rodarte or Dior) and showed off her growing bump. Congrats to Natalie on her win!

  Megan Fox in Armani Prive
Gorgeous from head to toe.

Olivia Wilde in Marchesa
It's highly reminiscent to me of the Oscar de la Renta dress that Cameron Diaz wore last year but I still love it. Marchesa can do no wrong in my eyes and Olivia's hair and makeup aren't too over the top, which was a good choice for such a dramatic dress.

Piper Perabo in Oscar de la Renta
This isn't a great picture of her but I loved her whole look, I don't think she's ever looked better.

January Jones in Versace
My TOP PICK. January Jones has become my red carpet favorite, she always wears something daring, in a dramatic color with total class. Her hair and makeup are never done the same way twice, which so many stars have gotten in the habit of doing. January can do no wrong in my eyes. Versace made a good choice when they hired her on, she knows how to werk Versace.

OK, now it's time to touch on ones that I didn't like so much...

Michelle Williams in Valentino
My celebrity doppleganger. Awful. This dress does nothing but make her look like a frumpy, confused hippie. What happened to the times when she looked like a Hollywood movie star back in 2006 at the Globes?

Jennifer Love Hewitt in Ramona Kaveza
I hate this look. The dress doesn't do anything for her body, the color is not flattering and her hair is way to big. it ages her and makes her look large.

Lily Donaldson for Harpers Bazaar US

The times when models frequently graced the covers of magazines has been gone for quite some time (since about the time I was in diapers), but I SO wish that would change. Celebrities are overexposed as it is and constantly seeing them on every cover of every magazine gets old in my opinion. Unfortunately, in a time when magazines are lucky to be alive, celebrities sell magazines and that's the bottom line. Boo.

That's why when I saw the January cover of Harper's Bazaar with a model (shocker!) on the cover and shot by Terry Richardson, I felt a wave of sheer delight. It's really stunning and the spread inside is even better. The clothes, the adorable animals, the genius of the oh-so-creepy Terry Richards and the multiple shots of Lily smiling. Perfection in my eyes, bravo Harper's Bazaar and Julia Von Boehm for making it happen.

I love everything about this shot.

Gorgeous.
